What Cases Can be Removed from DocketAlarm.com

Below are examples of types of cases that Docket Alarm will seek to suppress from search engines, such as Google and Bing:

  • Bankruptcies that are over 2 years old.
  • Discrimination or unfair termination lawsuits (request for removal must be brought by the plaintiff).
  • Social security cases.
  • Any case that a court has ordered to be sealed.
  • Cases involving minors.
  • Old criminal cases.
  • Cases where law enforcement home address or other personal information (excluding identity) is disclosed.

The list above is not exclusive, please feel free to submit a request.

Docket Alarm will not take down everything, particularly cases that have a strong public interest or where corporations are on both sides of the case. Docket Alarm will not honor suppression requests that are brought by legal professionals that wish to be disassociated with a court case.

How Long Does It Take to Remove a Case from Docket Alarm?

It typically takes around 5 business days to get a response to your Docket Alarm removal request. Docket Alarm does not directly control search engines, so does not guarantee when they will remove it from their results, but they usually do within 15 days.
